If you like the idea of helping to care for patients, consider becoming an RN or registered nurse. In this field, you will have to spend about two years in school to obtain a certification and/or registration.

You can begin studying in this field after acquiring a high school diploma or GED. Some people decide to stay in school for four years to get a higher degree, thus allowing them to get paid higher. If you aren't able to attend a physical school fulltime, you can complete some courses online. So how can you earn an online RN degree?

Instructions

Step One: The first thing you need to do is decide on how long you want to be in your classes. If you're looking to enter into the registered nursing field quickly, consider taking a two year course. Then on the other hand, if you want to take classes for more than two years to become a nurse practitioner, you can do so.

Step Two: Now, you need to take a look at the transcripts that you have. If you have certain post-secondary schooling credits, you may be able to apply them to your new course, if it fits into one of the prerequisites listed. If you don't, you can continue to with taking the class while earning an online RN degree.

Step Three: Next, you will need to apply for admission to the online school of your choice. Make sure it is accredited in the state you will be working in.

Step Four: Once you get into a school, you will need to complete all of the requirements for your undergraduate course. Some of the classes you will be studying for include chemistry, anatomy and biology.

Step Five: After you have completed your classroom and clinical studies, you'll need to take and pass the NCLEX exam to obtain a license to work in the RN field.
