How it Works
If you are a nurse in Georgia that has just graduated and is looking to obtain a license to begin working, but English isn't your native language, you will be required to take the TOEFL. Also, those that took nursing classes that wasn't in English will also have to take this exam.
Qualifications
Those that don't have to take the TOEFL include those that received their nursing education in areas like Jamaica, South Africa, Australia, Bermuda, Ireland, United Kingdom, Bermuda, Canada and New Zealand, and who have English as their native language. The class and textbooks must have been in English as well.
Passing the Test
In order to pass the TOEFL, you must obtain at least a score that's 540 (when taken on paper) and at least a score of 207 when using a computer test.
After Passing the Test
Once you have completed the exam, you will need receive your test results. Once you do, you will have to take it to the nursing board. You will find the nursing board code on the test results.
