During this time of recession, it is overbearing for people to find a career that they want to pursue. The health care industry is always booming, needing all types of professionals.

You can find a variety of career paths to choose from, you just need to find the right one for you. If you're looking to get into the nursing field, consider becoming a registered nurse. You will find that this can be a very stable career for you. Now, if you're looking to become a registered nurse in Missouri, here are some steps you will need to take.

If you have a bachelor's degree not in the nursing or medical field, you can go to University of Missouri. They offer a nursing program that is accelerated; meaning you will be able to graduate within a year (the length of time before you graduate is determined by how many prerequisites you have reached). All, you will have to pay about $300 per credit hour. At St. Louis it is cheaper, costing about $87 per credit hour. Some of the courses you will have to study for include microbiology, chemistry, human anatomy, nutrition and human development and growth.

If you need help with paying for school, you will need to submit an application with financial aid. Fill out the FAFSA and make sure that you have all of the required information needed (such as your prior year's tax return or parent's tax return if you are a minor). If you have already obtained a bachelor's degree, you won't be able to get a Pell grant. If you don't qualify for financial aid, you can try getting different grants and scholarships.

Once you have your finances straightened out for the school you want to attend, you will need to graduate from your registered nurse class. Then you will have to take an exam to become registered in the state you will be working in. Now, you're well on your way to being a registered nurse in Missouri!
