There is an estimated 43 million individuals in America that are considered to be disabled. About a third of this number consists of elderly people that are over 65 years old. If you're looking to work in the field of home health care, you can easily do so with the right training.

As a home health care provider, you will be providing non-medical services to patients within their homes. As people continue to grow older, there will always be a need for home health care assistance. In this field, you will also be helping your patients get to doctor appointments, do laundry, cook, clean, shop, groom, get dressed, eat and bathe. In order for you to become a home health care provider, you will need to obtain a license or certificate within your state.

Instructions

Step One: The first thing you need to do is decide on what type of business you would like to create in home health care. There are three different types that you can choose from. You can provide approved non-medical services / become a franchise, start your own independent business or operate as an individual service. Make sure that whatever route you choose, that you comply with the rules and regulations of your state.

Step Two: The next step is to decide if this is really what you want to do. The duties required in the home health care assistance field can be quite demanding and challenging. You will need to be organized, compassionate and patient.

Step Three: Afterward, you can begin studying the regulations and criteria for licensure in your state.

Step Four: Last, you will need to prepare to obtain your license and begin receiving client referrals.
