Step One: First, you will need to decide on which program you would like to take. Then search around for a nursing school or community college that offers that program. Studying an nursing program at school that specializes in the healthcare, will allow you to focus more on the field. But if you decide to attend a community college, you will receive more options. Also, you should ensure that the school you choose is within proximity to your home.
Step Two: Another way to get into a licensed practical nursing course, you should volunteer help at a nursing home or hospital. When LPN schools see this on your resume, you could better your chances of getting accepted because it shows that you have a deep interest in the nursing field. Plus a lot of medical facilities will welcome the idea of you helping them out.
Step Three: When it's time for enrollment, you will need to have all the required paperwork at hand. Some of the documents you will need to have include financial aid forms and transcripts. If you don't have your transcripts, you can contact your high school to obtain it.
Step Four: Practice the interviewing process. If you are applying to a licensed practical nurse program that requires you to undergo an interview, you need to practice answering the questions that may be asked. Make sure that you will be speaking clearly - rehearse if you have to.
