Step One: First thing you need to do is really ensure that you would like to become a licensed vocational nurse. In this field, you will undergo programs that are intense and require a lot of concentration. Mastering the courses you take will be required -- in some instances these materials could be confusing and unclear. Look over the program before enrolling in a school.
Step Two: Once you've made sure this is the career path for you, you can begin applying to take one or two programs. Many of the programs will take between nine and eighteen months to complete. While you're in these courses, you will have to attend classes full time. Make sure that the LVN program that you're taking fits within your financial and academic needs.
Step Three: You will need to get in touch with the schools you've attended to get your transcripts, which will be required to show proof of your academic background when you enroll in your LVN program. Also, if you've taken your SAT, you will need your test scores as well.
Step Four: By working in a medical field, you could increase your chances of getting accepted into an licensed vocation nursing program. Try working in places, such as a nursing home or other healthcare facility. This shows the schools you're applying to that you have proven interest in the nursing field.
