Emergency Care
In the emergency room of hospitals, the nurse is expected to see the patient initially before they see the physician. In these situations, nurses may witness life-threatening conditions that must be assessed right away. The information taken from the patient by the nurse is then transmitted to the physician.
Critical Care
The nurse role in the critical care section of the hospital involves caring for patients that have acute illnesses, such as diagnosing them, providing therapy and medication, and monitoring them.
Surgical
The surgeon's role is to provide surgeries in order to repair damage treat illnesses or remove patient deformities. As the nurse, you would assist the surgeon during surgeries.
Anesthesiologist
The nurses that work in anesthesiology is required to administer anesthesia to the patients that are about to undergo a variety of procedures, such as childbirth or surgery. In order to do this, you must be a certified registered nurse, or CRNA. The procedure is performed in order to numb patients from feeling painful procedures.
Administration
Another role nurses are known to play in the health care field includes administration. In this position, they are required to perform a variety of office duties. They are also able to move up to being a nurse manager or chief of staff.
