Prioritize
How long will your travel nurse assignment be? If it's going to last for a couple of weeks, it is best that you make priorities and cross out things you know you can live without. Only bring along things you really need to help make your trip less expensive. You can also rent items like DVD players and televisions.
House wares
The housing that is provided to travel nurses usually includes the usual furniture like beds, chairs, lamps and tables. Make sure to talk with the nursing agency to find out what the home will come with. In some cases, you will have to bring your own linens, dishes, towels and cutlery. If you have pets, don't forget to bring along their essentials. You can also buy things once you arrive to your temporary home.
Clothing
Make sure to pack up your work and casual clothes to bring along with you. Do a bit of research to see what the weather is like, so that you are prepared for the temperatures. You should pack some dressy and formal clothing in case you have to attend any social events. Keep in mind what the dress code is for the facility you are working for as well. The last thing you want to do is pack all of those things and not be able to wear them.
