Many nursing graduates, and even nursing students are already setting their sights on a long and good RN career. While most are already assured of a good destination to jumpstart their nurse RN employment, some are still in limbo on how to even start their promising nurse RN jobs. There are many ways to find these nursing job opportunities, for most it only takes a lot of patience, and yes, lots of creativity.

The Trend in Nursing Job Opportunities

The trend in the last two decades had seen the rise of nurse RN employment in the United States, Europe, and the Arab countries. Owe to this the high-paying opportunities, better working conditions, and faster RN career acceleration in these countries. In a recent research study, between 2008 and 2018, the demand for healthcare workers are expected to double from the current number of 1,500,000 in the United States alone.

Healthcare work cuts across all segments of the healthcare industry and in the recent years, registered nurses comprise more than twenty percent of these workers. Most of them are employed by medium to large-sized private and public hospitals. According to the same studies, this pattern may still continue after 2018, therefore, opportunities for a good RN career will remain stable and assuring.

Preparing your RN Career

The ways to finding a steady and long career in nurse RN profession are many, but the preparation for the actual job itself is more arduous. In most cases, spending four years in college learning the basics and applying them shortly can seem challenging especially when the shifting schedules and longer hours of studying will take up most of your life. Nursing schools can also wreak havoc on a parent's budget. But then again, it is never a bad habit to prepare for a good battle.

So pick up those thick books and prepare yourself well with everything you need to learn along the way. It would also prove more helpful if you constantly update yourself with patient-care information, promotion of health; injury and illness prevention, and over-all assistance to medical diagnosis, treatment, and medication. These are all within reach in web sites where everything in the healthcare industry are constantly updated, even discussed as in medical forums and conferences.

Where to Work

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, registered nurses can work in private or public hospitals, emergency rooms, hospice, intensive care, private corporations, home health, and even in schools. More often than not, they work along with physicians primarily as assistants and help to the complete recovery of patients. BLS reports that more than half of registered nurses work in hospitals where complete medical facilities and higher salaries are the norm.

The Upside of Nurse RN Jobs

There are many advantages to having a nurse RN employment and projecting an RN career on a long term. Like most healthcare careers, registered nurses have high job stability and can choose among a variety of schedules, the level of responsibility, and even their locations or assignments. On a more personal level, nurse RN jobs are also emotionally-rewarding as the nature of their job normally creates an opportunity for a personal touch in taking care of every patient.

Finally, nurse RN professions can be easily accelerated to a full-fledged RN career. While a registered nurse carries a bachelor's degree in nursing, a diploma in nursing, or an Associate's Degree in Nursing and has successfully passed the Registered Nurses' certification exam, one can still advance in her career path by completing the general RN requirements to become one of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN).

An option to pursue a Master's study or even beyond that level can open up more opportunities for career advancement. APRN's will normally choose a medical specialty which could either be anesthesiology, oncology, pediatrics, or other specialization to their inclination or liking, and which will help them focus on that specific field for mastery of their job.

Advanced Practice Nurses are considered one of the highest-paid nurses in the nursing sector. Clinical Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), the most advanced of nurses, Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), belong to this category. Rightly so, a higher level of learning, a deeper knowledge of your field of specialization would ultimately lead to an outstanding RN career path.
