1. Performs/directs patient care services including, but not limited to, admission interview, assessment, accurate documentation and timely patient flow. 2. Ensures priority care is given to patients in an emergency situation. Demonstrates the ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations. 3. Ensures patient is appropriately prepared for care encounter, anticipates patient’s/provider’s needs. Prepares/obtains patient medical records and other information/documentation pertinent to patient encounter. 4. Assists healthcare providers with exams, treatments, procedures and testing as directed. -ensures appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to the above 5. Schedules and provides patient instruction(s) for tests, treatments and hospital admissions, following correct insurance protocol. (Ie. Precertification, referrals, chart documentation, etc.) 6. Provides patient and family education pertaining to healthcare management, disease process, treatment, test(s), medication and follow-up under direct supervision of the health care provider. Maintain/update patient education materials and consent forms. 7. Receives, documents, prioritizes and responds to incoming calls as appropriate. ','!*!QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Preferred: Successful completion of clinicals as defined by graduating school. One or more years of practical nursing experience in an ambulatory health care setting. Spanish Bilingual speaking ability a plus Education and/or Licensure-Certification: Requires active licensure as a Practical Nurse in Nebraska and/or Iowa. Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so license must be held in the state of your residence. BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say “Professional Level-with AED”, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
