RN Pediatrics: Part-Time Nights 5p-5a shift 2-12 hour shifts per week
Renders professional nursing care to patients of all ages and individualizes patient care through use of the nursing process for patients. Demonstrates professional conduct and accountability while supporting Hospital mission and philosophy and behavioral expectations. This level designates clinical RNs who choose to become experts within their specialty and have met the criteria of a general clinical RN.
Orients and floats to the NICU in times of decreased pediatric census and as unit need allows
Ability to work in situations independently and autonomously in the Pediatric Unit
Required to be able to effectively work in the Charge Nurse role as designated by director, within 6 months of hire date
Utilizes effective assessment skills to perform physical and psychosocial assessments for routine patients, obtaining and reviewing relevant data, recognizing the scope of nursing practice and clinical limitations and correlating assessment findings in identifying patient problems with others
Evaluates patient's progress toward goal achievement and response to nursing interventions and revises the plan of care based on the patient response to nursing intervention. Evaluates and documents comprehension of patient/family to teaching plan and revises plan accordingly
Completes and adheres to specialized training in resuscitation of infants and children, working within the scope of that specialized training
Administers medications and fluids at the recommended dosage, amount and concentrations for neonates
Appropriately monitors laboratory tests for infants and children. Identifies and appropriately reports critical values

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current Utah RN license in good standing (Compact RN - When a nurse changes primary state of residence by moving from one compact state to another, the nurse can practice in the new state on the former license for up to 90 days. The 90 days starts when the nurse becomes a resident in the new state). Current certification as a BLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE healthcare provider
Education:
Associate Degree of Nursing required.
Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred
Experience:
1-3 years of clinical RN experience required.
1 year of Pediatric experience preferred','Pediatric Nurse, Part-Time Nights
