DAY-TO-DAY SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSE

GENERAL DUTIES: The Millbury School District is seeking day-to-day substitute school nurses to provide health services to the students of the Millbury Public Schools. The school nurse reports to the Principal and the Director of Pupil Services. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:•Coordinates all medical care and documentation during the day, including triage for emergency situations•Coordinates health services for students, with teachers and other staff •Performs required health screenings and documents results•Maintains an orderly and efficient clinic•Provides clinical consultation to staff, as needed•Maintains effective communication with parents regarding treatment plans and medical procedures•Communicates and consults with students’ physicians•Works collaboratively with all district and private nurses assigned to the school building•Administers daily medication and medical treatments and documents such, electronically•Maintains a log of the day’s medical issues •Maintains student medical records and creates requested reports•Other duties as requested by the Principal and Director of Pupil Services

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:•Must possess a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts •DESE School Nurse licensure, preferred•Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Nursing program•Must possess current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, which must be maintained

At least 3 years

of relevant experience preferred

Bachelor degree preferred

Citizenship, residency or work visa required
