RN Quality Specialist: Full-Time
This position reports to the Director Quality Management and works closely with the other members of the Quality Department: Risk Manager, Core Measure Manager, and Infection Control/Employee Health Coordinator. Also will interface with the Medical Staff Office Coordinator. Will complete duties and assignments with minimal supervision in a professional capacity.  Requires independent critical thinking and decision making capabilities.


Analyze care provided from patient medical records and write case summaries.  Input this into Peer Review computer program for physician review. 

Complete follow-up on new culture/biopsy results for discharged patients who need their treating physician notified.   

Complete audits and studies required for quality data collection and analysis. 

Investigate quality concerns identified throughout the hospital as assigned. 

Assist with Core Measures compliance improvement. 

Provide assistance with some cross-coverage duties for the following positions:  Core Measure Manager, Infection Control, Risk Manager, and Quality Manager
 ','!*!Licensure/Certification:
Current Utah RN license in good standing (Compact RN - When a nurse changes primary state of residence by moving from one compact state to another, the nurse can practice in the new state on the former license for up to 90 days. The 90 days starts when the nurse becomes a resident in the new state). Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
 
Education:
Associate Degree Nursing, Diploma RN, or BSN degree
 
Experience:
RN with at least 3 years acute care experience.  Skills relating to quality audits, chart review, and quality improvement process are required by the position.  Needs good computer skills, communication skills, and writing ability','RN Quality Specialist
