Care will be provided in both the outpatient and inpatient setting to healthy normal volunteer research patients and to those with unusual and distinctive medical problems. Care requirements are determined by the scope of study participation, the clinical condition of the patient and the requirements and clinical effects of research procedures. Management of clinical and research support activities in order to assure patient safety, address clinical needs and assure protocol integrity and accurate data collection. Activities will include: providing direct, individualized care to adult (80%) and pediatric (20%) research patients, phlebotomy and IV insertion, preparing and administering investigational medications, performing ECG’s, collecting and processing specimens, data collection, providing direction and health teaching where applicable in relation to study protocol activities, reporting and recording care rendered, reporting the patient’s response to that care, and contributing to the CTRC’s continuous quality improvement programs. The RN must be detail-oriented, flexible, independent, and exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.','!*!License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required and must be proficient with IV insertions and phlebotomy draws. Previous clinical research nursing experience preferred. Epic training and previous experience working at UNC Hospitals preferred.
